Venture deep into the heart of Lapland's fascinating landscape as you explore this little-known jewel of a destination with your team of Alaskan huskies. As you look around, you see gorgeous snow-capped mountains, mirror-like frozen lakes and dense forests of birch. Suddenly, a loud shout to the dogs breaks the silence and sets your team - and your dog sledding adventure - in high gear. Who knew huskies could run so fast? They love it as much as you do!

Practicalities

Experience: No previous dogsledding experience needed. You will be taught how to handle the dogsleds at the beginning of the trip.
Age: You need to be at least 18 years old to go on a Nova Arctic dogsledding tour. Provided you are in good health, there is no upper age limit!
Fitness level: You don’t need to be a professional athlete to enjoy dogsledding, but it helps to be in reasonably good shape. More important however, is that you enjoy a challenge - the conditions can be quite tough at times!
Equipment: Come as you are; complete outfits are provided. how to dress
Singles, couples and groups: All are welcome! You can join a tour as a single, with a partner or with friends. We put together groups of approximately 5-6 per trip. (Special tours can be arranged for larger groups - call and ask us about this!)

When you are out dogsledding, it’s comforting to know you are in safe hands. Nova Arctic’s guide, Per Berglund, has over 20 years experience with professional dog sled tours in Lapland. Per owns and operates his own kennel with over 50 huskies and is an accomplished champion in dog sledding. He speaks fluent English as well as Swedish.
